  You've Got a Problem. . . We Find Solutions

What is Help Now!?
We use advocacy skills to help those in need within our community solve problems or end disputes with businesses, governmental agencies, or other individuals. Here are a few real life examples:

A very sick person is hospitalized. During his lengthy hospitalization, the agency responsible for his care takes possession of all his personal belongings but then loses track of them. Our help causes the agency to find one item and pay for the loss of the rest.
A disabled person is no longer able to clean his apartment but still wants to live independently. Our help locates services that will do the cleaning for him free.
A person being treated by a local social service agency is having problems with her caseworker, but the agency has refused to make a change. By investigating the situation and coming up with reasons for a change, our help causes the agency to change the caseworker.
A person without much money and not good with words needs to make a major purchase of an important item. We help by getting her the best price from a good company.
A senior of less than sound mind is in possession of a loaded firearm. Prompted by a call from her daughter, we help by getting this senior to surrender the firearm to law enforcement authorities.
A disabled person is about to be criminally charged for starting a fight. By causing the authorities to take a closer look at the facts, our help results in his not being charged.
We help a social security applicant organize his records in a way that assures prompt payment of new benefits.

Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide professional advocacy assistance to those in need, with a focus on finding solutions.

Our Vision
Our vision is to become an uplifting force for the client population we serve by establishing our organization as a trusted place to which those in need can first turn for solutions to their problems. Our broader vision is that our advocacy efforts on behalf of individuals in the community will become a tool creating institutional and social change within the community benefiting others beyond the client population we serve directly.

Goals

  1. To achieve at least an 80% rate of success in obtaining satisfactory results from our advocacy on behalf of clients.

  2. To advocate vigorously, yet in a creative and professional manner, in all client matters so as to foster previously uncontemplated solutions to their problems.

  3. To obtain feedback from at least 95% of our clients that they had services provided them in a timely, respectful, courteous, and professional manner by our staff.

  4. To achieve a status and reputation within the community as an organization regarded as epitomizing the highest degree of professionalism in all its work.

  5. To become financially self-sustaining through donations and grants by virtue of our good work and service to the community.

  6. To work collaboratively with other local non-profits and social service agencies to solve ongoing and institutional problems facing our client population.

  7. To create a work atmosphere within our organization which is, at once, both dedicated and joyful.

  8. To create awareness, both within our community and nationally, of the types of problems faced by our client population and of their need for advocacy assistance.

Help Now! Values Statement
We at Help Now! embrace the spirit and dignity we view as the essence of every human being. Irrespective of our clients’ position or stage in life and regardless of the nature of the problems that may beset them, we will always maintain this view and perception in serving them with the respect and courtesy they deserve.

Our view and perception of humanity also means that, when we are advocating on behalf of our clients, we will conduct that advocacy in a way that is always professional and respectful of those who may have differing views on a particular issue. We believe that having this regard for our fellow man can, in itself, be conducive to resolving issues on behalf of our clients in a manner that protects their interests but also achieves a fair and reasonable outcome.

Nondiscrimination Policy
Help Now! Advocacy Center does not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, political affiliation, or religious belief.
